NICOSIA, 11 December 2008 - A ceremony to launch the
Volunteer Programme for the XIII Games of the Small
States of Europe CYPRUS 2009 was held
at Olympic House in Nicosia, Wednesday.
Cyprus Olympic Committee
President, Ouranios Ioannides, called upon all Cypriots
with a genuine will to see the Games successful to come
forward and contribute their services. Mr Ioannides made
special reference to the importance of volunteerism in
the context of social responsibility and praised
Cypriots for their response to in calls for volunteers
from non-commercial organisations.
In turn, COC
General Coordinator, Olga Piperidou, presented the
Application Form and elaborated on the visions and the
goals that the Organising Committee has for the XIII
GSSE.
