- The Monaco Beach Volleyball Menís Team has blown Pool
B wide open after their 2-1 (17-21, 21-19, 15-9)
marathon victory over Liechtenstein in a frantic game
which lasted around 120 minutes.
final result means that the three out of the four sides
in the pool (Monaco, Liechtenstein and Andorra) will all
battle it out for the two top slots in this afternoonís
games. Icelandís earlier 2-0 defeat to Andorra means
that they are mathematically out of the event.

Things are less complicated in Pool A
where San Marino and Cyprus have both mathematically
secured their place in the semifinals. In lunchtimeís
game, Luxembourg beat Malta 2-1 (21-17, 17-21, 15-13) in
an unpredictable encounter to decide who would seal
third place in the pool and the chance to battle for
fifth place. The game lasted 63 minutes.
The big game in Pool A will take place
between the two leaders, San Marino and Cyprus, which
begins at 16:00 and is set to decide which team will
finish top to face the runner-up in Pool B.
